VICTORIA GARDEN MALL RANCHO CUCUMONGA RE-CREATION OF AN OUTDOOR FIREPLACE

Boston Brick & Stone was selected by Forest City, a nationwide company that constructs shopping malls and movie theater complexes across the country, to construct a masonry fireplace within the food court area. Brian Jones, the West Coast Director of Forest City wanted us to create an outdoor fireplace that would look like it was built at the turn of the century when the area was populated with wineries. A design team was assembled and a rough draft was submitted. By the time the chimney was 25% complete the Forest City design team turned over all major design decisions to Boston Brick & Stone. Mr. Brian Jones was so impressed with the fireplace structure that he directed us to place a plaque in the chimney identifying it as a Boston Brick & Stone creation. We were told that this had never been done before, where a subcontractor was allowed to leave their name on their product within a shopping mall.
