THE TOWN OF ENCINO
In 1834, a parcel of land was given to three Mission Indians by the Mexican Government and was named, "Rancho Los Encinos." Translated into English, the name means Ranch of the Evergreens. It is long believed that the area was originally named after its most famous resident, a 1,000-year-old California live oak tree, which was so revered that when it was felled by a storm in 1988, a monument was erected in its place.
Today the name of the town has been shortened to Encino, and is an upscale suburb of Los Angeles, located on the northern slope of the Santa Monica Mountains. The local residents, however, have not lost their reverence for nature. There are many parks and open spaces and the Encino Earth Day Festival is the largest such celebration in all of Los Angeles.
Citizens of Encino who are dedicated to keeping their homes and yards as lovely as the town in which they live can depend on Boston Brick and Stone to assist them with all of their driveway, patio, chimney and hardscape repairs and upgrades.
